My current body of work is focused on the coral reef, an exploration of the vibrancy of the living reef, the stages of decay, and the bleached corals. I want to engage with my audience and create a discussion about what the reefs are facing, how it will affect us, and what we can do to change what it happening.
This collection is an exploration of altercation and adding handbuilt aspects to functional forms, bringing them almost to the point of non-functional and more sculptural. This series of forms is an inspiration for my current body of work, as it is an artistic rendition of the thriving coral reefs.
